Class Descriptions

Gentle Yoga:  This class welcomes all levels and focuses on alignment, mindful movement, and breath work.  The asana (posture) practice will minimize extra weight bearing while still encouraging range of motion within the joints.  Modifications are available for every posture and students are encouraged to work at their own pace.Sunrise Yoga – description to come …

Level 1-2 Yoga:  Each class will begin with a brief meditation practice and transition into a ‘vinyasa’ or ‘flow’ style class.  Students will be encouraged to move through traditional, active Yoga poses and Sun Salutations by way of breath and refined attention to alignment.  The purpose of this refined attention is to quiet the mind and allow us to settle easily into the final restorative postures of the class and the rest of our day.

Zumba:  Takes the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Each class will keep in mind that we all have unique body types, fitness levels, injuries, limitations, and energy, Towards the end of class, we will also do some guided breath work to ease our bodies into full cool-down mode.

Buti Movement:  Is a soulful blend of power yoga, high intensity tribal dance and deep abdominal toning. This all-in-one workout will tone + sculpt your body while facilitating a deep inner transformation. This class helps women tap into their inner power to unleash an unshakable confidence, uncover true desire and bond with other women instead of compete.

Mat Pilates:  Teaches you how to move according to the principles of alignment, biomechanics, core integration, timing and space. All of the teaching is shaped by the the pivotal incorporation of proper use of breath while moving. With focus on quality over quantity, and detail over repetition, this unique approach to mind-body conditioning teaches you to skillfully perform any movement you undertake with clear understanding and results. You will learn to successfully isolate, control and activate your body parts, joint and musculature with a new level of precision and awareness.

Restorative Yoga:  Described as ‘the Yoga of Being’, Restorative Yoga encourages passive, supported postures in which breathwork may be explored.   Postures are held for a longer duration as a way of invoking the relaxation response within the body.  This class is strategically placed to restore, nourish and renew after a busy week and reset for the week to come!
